The Association of Online Media Guild (ASSOMEG) has congratulated Alhasan Yahaya on his election as the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

In a statement signed by ASSOMEG’s interim chairman, Abdullateef Abubakar Jos, and interim secretary, Abbas Yushau Yusuf, the association commended Yahaya’s dynamic leadership qualities and reformist agenda.

“We congratulate Alhasan Yahaya on his election as the new NUJ President. His dynamism and effort as a reformist are commendable,” the statement said.

The guild lauded Yahayaโ€™s dedication to the growth of journalism in Nigeria, emphasizing his commitment to upholding integrity and professionalism. “We believe that under his leadership, the NUJ will continue to thrive and address the challenges facing journalists in the country,” ASSOMEG stated.

ASSOMEG also pledged its support for Yahaya and the NUJ, expressing readiness to collaborate in advancing the welfare of journalists and improving the media industry. “We look forward to working closely with the NUJ under Yahaya’s leadership to achieve our common goals,” the statement concluded.
