On Sunday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be at Abidjan’s Stade Alassane Ouattara to cheer the Super Eagles against Ivory Coast in the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final.

Dr. Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football, said this on Friday during a news conference following a meeting with the presidents of CAF Member Associations before of the AFCON final.

Motsepe responded to a journalist’s question about when Africa may host the FIFA World Cup again, following South Africa did for the first time in 2010. Tinubu will be in Abidjan on Sunday.

“Nigeria must submit a bid. The Nigerian president (Bola Tinubu) is scheduled to attend the final on Sunday. “I will talk to him about it,” he replied.

Meanwhile, Vice President Kashim Shettima led the Super Eagles to a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over South Africa in the AFCON 2023 semi-finals on Wednesday, following a 1-1 draw in normal and extra time.
