A Kano State High Court No 16 sitting in Miller Road presided by Justice Maryam Ahmad Sabo has restrained the Kano State government from selling a maternity and children clinic in ’Yan awaki quarters of the state.

About 113 of ’Yan awaki residents filed a motion ex-parte dated 20th December sworn by their leader, Salisu Ibrahim of ’Yan awaki K/Wambai.

The Yan awaki residents through their counsel, Barrister Badamasi Sulaiman Gandu prayed the court to restrain Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Other respondents in the suit are Attorney General of Kano State and Municipal Local Government Area.

Justice Maryam Ahmad Sabo granted the prayers of ’Yan awaki residents and restrained the first respondent from selling the hospital.

The court also ordered all parties to maintain status quo pending the adjourned date fixed for hearing of the application.

Daily Trust reports that the case has been adjourned to 23rd of December, 2022.
