The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, has moved former Anambra State Governor Willie Maduabuchi Obiano to Courtroom 5 of the Federal High Court in Abuja for arraignment.
Obiano, outfitted in a navy blue suit and black cap, was brought into the courtroom by more than ten anti-graft agents.
He was driven into the courthouse at 8 a.m. in an 18-seater Toyota Bus labeled ABC 573 KQ and remained inside for a few minutes before being taken to the courtroom.
He was wedged between four EFCC agents, who were blocking his supporters and admirers from approaching him.
At the time of writing, the identities of the lawyers most likely to represent him could not be determined.
However, more than 50 lawyers have already entered the courtroom.
Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo, who is scheduled to enter his plea on the criminal charges, is being expected, but court staff are already on alert.
Obiano will face trial on a nine-count charge of alleged N4 billion fraud levied against him by the Federal Government through the EFCC.
