 Nigeria’s U-20 female national team, the Falconets is set to defeat their Tanzanian counterparts in the  2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup African qualifier second round, second leg  on Sunday in Abuja.

Both teams played  a one all draw in the first leg match played at the Azam Sports Complex in  Dar es Salaam on Nov.12.

A statement by Ademola Olajire, Director of Communications at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), said the Head Coach, Christopher Danjuma will bank on Olise, as well as FIFA U17 World Cup bronze medallist, Opeyemi Ajakaye to get the goals.

He said that Nigeria has been an ever-present at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup since the competition was launched as an U19 tournament in Canada 21 years ago.

Olajire said  that goalkeeper Anderlin Mgbechi, who kept  in Dar es Salaam, is again set to start, with another U-17 World Cup bronze medallist,Comfort Folorunsho.

He said she is part of a rearguard led by captain Oluchi Ohaegbulem, and which includes Jumoke Alani and Shukurat Oladipo.

Olajire said  that small but creative Taiwo Afolabi, the will lead the midfield that could also have Adoo Yina and Shola Shobowale.

The Confederation of African Football ( CAF) has appointed Rachel Nzigire from Democratic Republic of Congo to  referee the Sunday’s decisive encounter in Nigeria,  with Ngarassoum Victorine from Chad as assistant referee one .

Rachel’s compatriots, Carine Puazi and Carine Ampur will be assistant referee two and fourth official respectively.

Christine Ziga from Ghana will be the match commissioner.
