Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) collected N5.5 billion as revenue between June 2022 and January 2023.

Its Managing Director, Alhaji Ahmad Dangana, says it was a great improvement in revenue collection in its franchise area of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa.

He said at a KEDCO senior management retreat holding in Kano that the more than 70 per cent growth in revenue collection was an improvement over the N3.2 billion collected in the first six months of 2022.

He said the company had also increased its market penetration from 42 per cent in June 2022 to 58 per cent at the end of the year, a steady move towards hitting the projected 70 per cent penetration before end of 2022.

Dangana noted that power supply also improved greatly in the period under review.

He said KEDCO sustained its investments worth N17 billion to build efficient and effective network and pledged improved service delivery to Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states.

He said the company repaired more than 250 transformers in the last three months and added that plans were in place to provide more pre-paid meters to end estimated billings.

In his presentation, the Chief Commercial Officer of KEDCO, Malam Abubakar Yusuf assured of renewed commitment to providing consumers with timely and consistent solution to complaints.

Yusuf said that the company had also resolved to ensure that customers got value for their money and that measures were put in place for better service delivery. (NAN)
