Islamic Forum, a coalition of members of different Islamic sects including Izala, Tijjaniya, Shiites and Qadiriya has demanded the prosecution of culprits involved in the killing of 85 persons by a Nigerian Army drone in Tudun Biri community of Kaduna state.
Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, chairman of the Forum Malam Abubakar Rabo also demanded full compensation to the families of deceased and injured victims of the tragedy.
Daily News 24 reports that following the attack, which the Nigerian Army described as an accident, the Army Chief Lt. Gen, T.A Lagbaja promised to carryout an inquiry into the incident.
Malam Rabo said only an investigation and prosecution of the culprits would be seen to have served justice in the matter, saying the forum believe the attack was deliberate and not a mistake.
“We called for an independent investigation into the matter, in the same vein, we are worried that the President cannot even visit the place.
“And that an open apologies should be issued to those people of Tudun Biri and that this kind of deliberate actions that has been carrying out should not occurred, again,” he said.
Sheikh Rabo said their position, remained that those that are behind the perpetuated action should face diligence punishment through their prosection at the competent Court of law”.
The Forum noted that these kind of killings of innocent Muslims and other Northerners, has been happening so many times in Borno, Zamfara and many other places, but this time around they would not take it lightly on the Tudun Biri massacre.
“We will continue to offer prayers against those that are hellbent in creating chaos in the North, we will order all our Jumaat mosques to start serious against them,” the cleric said.
