A fire broke out Thursday night in shops near the Kantin Kwari market in Kano, with firefighters working to put out the flames.

Eyewitnesses on the scene reported that officials from the state fire department arrived promptly and are actively working to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the incident is suspected to be linked to a solar power device in one of the shops.
