Kano Road and Traffic Agency KAROTA has fired one of its staff RTA II Jamilu Gambo over indiscipline.

The sack comes after an emergency meeting was held between KAROTA and the State Commissioner of Police.

Both parties unanimously agreed the ‘unscrupulous and undisciplined KAROTA Staff’ be relieved of his duties.

The Managing Director, Kano Road and Traffic Agency KAROTA announces the sack in a statement signed by the Agency’s Public Relations Officer, Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na’isa.

The statement said, Gambo was dismissed on Thursday following his unprofessional conduct at his duty post where destroyed a trailer’s tires as a result of argument between him and the trailer’s driver.

This development lead to close down of the Kano-Hadejia road by other trailer drivers in solidarity to their affected member which caused untold hardship on commuters and other drivers playing that route.

The Managing Director Kano Road and Traffic Agency, Baffa Babba Dan’agundi appreciates the leadership of the NARTO Kano Branch for their quick intervention during the incidence, who prevented him from mob action which would have resulted in his death and also the Police for their role, and assured anyone found wanting at his duty post would not be spared.

On behalf of the Agency Baffa apologizes to the general public who’s movements were delayed as a result of the incidence.

The Agency also handed over to the Police the sacked officer for further investigation and made to pay for the damages caused on the driver’s vehicle.
