The leadership of the Kano state chapter of the Labour Party has said that it is their prerogative to emancipate the citizens of Nigeria from the shackles of poverty, ignorance and injustice which has been the narrative over time.Ā 

While speaking at a mobilisation and sensitization community town hall meeting in Kano, the Stateā€™s Governorship Candidate for the party, Engr. Bashir Ishaq Bashir said the only hope Nigerians have for a better future is to mobilize and vote for LP in the forthcoming elections.

ā€œOur greatest asset is the people we have and what the people need is a competent president who can deliver and that is Peter Obi. We have thieves and cabals surrounding the president, and now is the time to take back Nigeria.

Peter Obi receives Labour Partyā€™s certificate of return

ā€œWe have to unite as a people in order to take charge and put Nigeria back to where it belongs. Peter Obi, Yusuf Baba Ahmed and I, will ensure that it happens both nationally and in Kano state.ā€ He said.

Engr Bashir further reiterated Labour Partyā€™s commitment to the course of a united Nigeria, stating that Nigeria needs healing in all sectors of the countryā€™s economy, pointing out that LP

He equally urged all well-meaning Nigerians and party faithful to aggressively engage in door-to-door., village- to-village and street-to-street campaigns to deliver the presidency and governorship positions to LP for a better Nigeria and Kano state.

It is barely seven months to the 2023 general elections and the Labour Party has emerged as a third force which is hopeful of defeating the dominant parties in Nigeria’s political space.Ā
