Social media lit up with reactions following a lighthearted exchange in Nigerian Pidgin English between French President Emmanuel Macron and Nigeriaโ€™s President Bola Tinubu during Tinubuโ€™s state visit to France.

Macron, who welcomed Tinubu to France, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a nostalgic post written in Pidgin, reflecting on his early career as an intern at the French Embassy in Nigeria. โ€œNa big honour for France, dear President Bola Tinubu @officialABAT, to welcome you for dis State visit as one big partner and friend of today and tomorrow,โ€ Macron wrote.
