Following the upgrade of the Adamu Augie College of Education Argungu by the state government to a degree awarding college with university affliation, recently a rejig of the academic and administrative structures of the college and its sister institutions were effected to meet the requirements of regulatory bodies. Hence, the recent appointment of Dr Abubakar Abubakar Birnin Kebbi as the acting provost of Adamu Augie college of education Argungu.
 
Dr Abubakar said, his thrust of action is turn around the college through uncompromising academic pursuit.
 
He decried the level of half baked graduates in the country.
 
”I will decentralize the academic circle by allowing deans, heads of departments (HODs) to function independently to ensure departmental lecturers and/or tutors impart knowledge to students.” He said.
 
The educationist added that his campuses will not tolerate moral indecency arising from half naked dressing by female students and improper haircut and thug-like dressing of male students.
 
He warned advocates of prostitution and cultism to stay away from the college as the management will deal ruthlessly with promoters and symphatisers of cultism.
 
On conduct of lecturers in the School, he urged them to maintain only academic relationship with female students anything intimate is abominable and will meet the wrath of the college management.
 
Dr Abubakar thanked the executive governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu for upgrading the college and others in the state.
 
He added that he is grateful to the ministry of high education for doing the right thing which gave him the opportunity to serve his state which he promised to do his best with the cooperation of his deans and heads of department.
