Sha’aban Ibrahim Sharada, the Action Democratic Party’s Kano Gubernatorial Candidate and a member of the House of Representatives for the Municipal Federal Constituency, has congratulated Nigerians and Kano people in particular on the country’s 62nd anniversary of independence.

Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada stated this in a press release issued by the ADP Gubernatorial Campaign Council on the nation’s 62nd anniversary of independence.

Sharada, seizing the opportunity to extol the virtues and achievements of Nigeria’s founding fathers, said the country got off to a good start and has made significant progress despite the challenges.

According to Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada, Kano people have faced numerous challenges since Nigeria’s independence in 1960, when the state was a province of the old Northern Region and was later declared a state by General Yakubu Gowon in May 1967. Alhaji Audu Bako, the state’s first military governor, laid the groundwork for good governance and achieved the most in the state’s history during his eight-year tenure.

The Gubernatorial Candidate went on to say that the state had another landmark achievement during the reign of the late Muhammad Abubakar Rimi of blessed memory, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, and others, and he promised to bring new innovations in 2023 if he is elected governor on March 11, 2023.

The Gubernatorial Candidate bemoaned how, despite the benefits of democracy, the state’s current administration is run solely as a family affair.

He also lamented the difficulties that the state’s businessmen and other enterprising individuals face, such as land encroachment and the erection of buildings on waterways, as well as other artificial environmental problems that have a serious impact on the state’s economy.

He also promised to ensure a level playing field for all businesses, restoring Kano’s past glory as a commercial city, and urged the people of the state to remain steadfast in their daily activities as the general election approaches.

In light of the aforementioned troubling scenarios, Shaaban Sharada stated that during his most recent visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, he met with Middle Eastern foreign investors interested in investing in Kano, Nigeria’s most populous state.

According to him, everything is in place for foreign investors to arrive in Nigeria, where he will host them to unveil Kano Vision 2040, which contains his policy document and blueprint for Kano’s development.

He urged the people of the state to be patient with the challenges they are facing, including a lack of direction from those in charge of the state’s affairs, noting that it will be a thing of the past on May 29 when the people of the state vote for ADP.

Shaaban Ibrahim Sharada went on to say that he has assembled one of the best teams in the state’s history to propel its development agenda for future generations.

The governorship candidate also paid tribute to Kano’s founding fathers and past governors who contributed to its development and promised to make Kano a Nigerian giant with the help of Almighty Allah.

He expresses gratitude to millions of young people and their parents, as well as women’s organizations, for their support in establishing a government that reflects their aspirations.

The statement was signed by Abbas Yushau Yusuf, Spokesperson for the ADP Gubernatorial Campaign Council.
