The deputy governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure have been involved in a Two hundred thousand euros (€200k) transfer related deal of a former Sunshine Stars player, Franklin Sasere to Swiss Super League club, FC Lugano.

Facilitator of the player’s transfer to the club based in Switzerland, Mr. Shu’aibu Yakubu who made all documents available stated this in a chat with journalists while narrating his ordeal after the player sealed a successful transfer move to the Swiss club.

Mr. Yakubu noted the player transfer to FC Lugano was done without any hitch and prior to that process, there was binding agreement which stated 50% of the player’s transfer fee will be given to those who initiated and facilitated the transfer.

According to Yakubu, “sometimes last year, we were at a match venue in Ilorin, watching Kwara United taking on Sunshine Stars in an NPFL tie.

“I spotted Franklin Sasere who had an excellent game that day and immediately informed my partners based in Switzerland.

” Without hesitation, FC Lugano immediately agreed on a fee with Sunshine Stars ,amd the tune of €200k Euros was accepted by Sunshine Stars.”

“Unfortunately, Covid19 pandemic took a financial toll on the club like it affected most clubs in Europe, which they later said the transfer will be paid in faces.”

“As I’m talking you, FC Lugano have confirmed to us that they have completed the payment and up till we are yet to receive a dime from the transfer fee which I initiated facilitated.”

“I was even told from a reliable source that the deputy governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has ordered the withdrawal of €40,000 for the up keeps of Sunshine Stars.”

“As you can see, I have all the documents available to back my claim.”

Meanwhile, when contacted, former Sunshine Stars Chairman, Tajuddeen Akinyemi has confirmed there was an agreement with Mr.

Shu’aibu Yakubu while he was in charge of the club. According to him , ” It is true there was agreement with regards to Franklin Sasere’s transfer to FC Lugano with those that facilitated the deal.”

“But let me make some clarifications here, the transfer fee is 200k Two hundred thousand Swiss Franc and when converted to Euros is 172k to 175k .”

“As you know , the state government under Rotimi Akeredolu has dissolved the board of Sunshine Stars. ”

“I’m no longer in charge of the club and can’t have access to club’s coffers.”

All efforts to reach out to the interim Sunshine Stars board supervised by the deputy governor proved abortive.
