Kashim Shettima, Nigeria’s vice president, will be in attendance when the Super Eagles face the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in the final match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Shettima flew to Cote d’Ivoire on the eve of his team’s semi-final victory over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.

The second-highest-ranking citizen of the country witnessed the game live in Bouake’s Stade de la Paix.

Following the game, the former senator joined players and officials in the locker room to celebrate.

According to SCORENigeria, Shettima will lead a robust presidential delegation to Sunday’s finale at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.

He is anticipated to be accompanied by several top government officials.
