The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero, has urged the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to persuade her husband, President Bola Tinubu, to address serious concerns such as hunger, malnutrition, and insecurity in the country.
The emir made the plea as Tinubu’s wife visited him in Kano on Monday.

“Although we have several means of communicating with the government about our needs and requests, your way and means is the most reliable way to inform the President about current events in the country,” Bayero, who spoke via an interpreter, told the First Lady.
According to the monarch, the hunger problem “has become more alarming and needs urgent attention.”
He additionally urged Tinubu’s wife to pressure the president to address the rising insecurity.
“Insecurity is another important issue that we face. I understand that your government inherited it, but more severe measures should be taken to address the threats,” Bayero remarked.
The emir also expressed concern about the Federal Government’s proposal to relocate the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria and the Central Bank of Nigeria offices from Abuja to Lagos.
