{"id":50684,"date":"2022-08-13T13:54:44","date_gmt":"2022-08-13T12:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailynews24.ng\/?p=50684"},"modified":"2022-08-13T13:54:44","modified_gmt":"2022-08-13T12:54:44","slug":"come-to-where-youre-destined-to-be-gbaja-woos-wike-to-apc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailynews24.ng\/come-to-where-youre-destined-to-be-gbaja-woos-wike-to-apc\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Come to where you\u2019re destined to be\u2019 &#8211; Gbaja woos Wike to APC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, says Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, is \u201cdestined\u201d to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gbajabiamila spoke on Friday when he inaugurated the official quarters for members of the house of assembly in Rivers.<\/p>\n<p>Wike had invited Gbajabiamila to unveil the legislative quarters built by his administration.<\/p>\n<p>Over the past few days, the governor, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has played host to APC members, inviting them to inaugurate projects in the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Gbajabiamila said he had to cut short his vacation in the US to attend the unveiling of the quarters \u201cbecause of who he (Wike) is and what he is to me\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailynews24.ng\/wike-says-atikus-interview-full-of-lies-vows-to-remain-in-pdp\/\">Wike says Atiku\u2019s interview full of lies, vows to remain in PDP<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He added that he and members of the APC are eagerly expecting Wike to join the party.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cLet me start by thanking the governor, my friend and brother, that a confession that has been known to all forever that you plotted against me,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt is the irony of life and indeed very interesting, the twist of fate, that those who he sat with to plot against me are the same people who sat together at your primary to plot against you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cSo, plotting is not necessarily a new thing in politics but what is constant is that in politics, there are no permanent enemies, there are no permanent friends, but what you have is permanent interest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cAnd by God\u2019s grace, this one that you have started, the journey that you have started that you and I both know, shall be permanent. Please choke them. I said choke them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI believe that when the governor finally chokes them, the members of the state assembly will be coming with him to where he is destined to be. We await you, your excellency, and very eagerly too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cDo not let anybody intimidate you. At the appropriate time, you will tell them; you will choke them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Rivers governor had contested the PDP presidential ticket but lost to former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He was also said to be a choice candidate for the PDP vice-presidential ticket, but Abubakar chose Ifeanyi Okowa, Delta governor, as his running mate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There are speculations that the Rivers governor may not support Abubakar following his loss of the party\u2019s presidential and vice-presidential tickets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">Although there have been <span class=\"s2\">fence-mending meetings<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0towards resolving the friction in the party, Wike\u2019s recent actions seem to indicate that the crisis is far from over<a href=\"http:\/\/google.com\">.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Cable<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives, says Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers, is \u201cdestined\u201d to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
