{"id":52584,"date":"2022-09-03T21:39:59","date_gmt":"2022-09-03T20:39:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailynews24.ng\/?p=52584"},"modified":"2022-09-03T21:39:59","modified_gmt":"2022-09-03T20:39:59","slug":"yobe-govt-names-ultra-modern-market-after-senate-president-lawan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailynews24.ng\/yobe-govt-names-ultra-modern-market-after-senate-president-lawan\/","title":{"rendered":"Yobe Govt names ultra-modern market after Senate President Lawan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Yobe State Government has named the Gashua Ultra-Modern Market after Senate President Ahmad Lawan<a href=\"http:\/\/dailynews24.ng\">.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ezrel Tabiowo, Special Assistant (Press) to Lawan in a statement in Abuja, said the naming of the market after Lawan, was announced at the commissioning of the project by the state Governor, Mai Mala Buni on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Tabiowo quoted Buni as saying:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have the pleasure to announce to you that the Gashau modern market has been named after Distinguished Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first ever President of the Senate from Yobe State and, indeed, the entire North East geo-political zone and in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d It is also in recognition of the exemplary working relationship he established between the executive and legislative arms of government for a developmental democracy to thrive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Gashua ultra-modern market is a 505 shops of different sizes, administrative blocks, mosques, drainage systems, water facilities, provision for banks, fire station and police outpost.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe market is expected to stimulate increased economic activities that will enhance job opportunities and income generation for our people and promote internally generated revenues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Buni said that the market was registered as a limited liability company, with a full-fledged board of directors to be supported by management staff.<\/p>\n<p>He, therefore, enjoined the board and management of the market to work to ensure good utilisation of all facilities towards the realisation of collective goals.<\/p>\n<p>The Senate President, who commissioned the project, announced on behalf of his SAIL Foundation, a donation of N200 million to traders in Bade Local Government through his foundation.<\/p>\n<p>SAIL stands for Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, 400 traders are to benefit N500,000 each as start-up capital.<\/p>\n<p>He announced that the foundation, under his leadership, would oversee the disbursement of the funds to local traders.<\/p>\n<p>Laws said: \u201c I\u2019m short of words today, for this honour done to me.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYobe State is out on the trajectory of development; today, we are celebrating one of those development strides you have brought to our state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn particular, the ultra-modern markets in the four local governments are signs of efforts by your administration to create employment opportunities, generate wealth and, of course, ensure sustainable economic development for our state.<\/p>\n<p>He praised the governor for the foresight and \u201cwhat you have been able to do in the line of developing our state in the last three and half years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201d I want to assure you that those of us representing Yobe State in the National Assembly will continue to give our maximum support to you and our administration in this state, and nothing less is expected of us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am particularly thrilled when you mentioned that the ultra-modern markets of Gashua and Nguru have been completed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of all of us in Zone C, otherwise known as Yobe North Senatorial District, I want to thank you for this care and concern for the development of this zone\u201d<a href=\"http:\/\/google.com\">.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Yobe State Government has named the Gashua Ultra-Modern Market after Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
