{"id":52675,"date":"2022-09-04T17:18:41","date_gmt":"2022-09-04T16:18:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailynews24.ng\/?p=52675"},"modified":"2022-09-04T17:34:22","modified_gmt":"2022-09-04T16:34:22","slug":"imam-worshipers-killed-in-borno-as-terrorists-open-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailynews24.ng\/imam-worshipers-killed-in-borno-as-terrorists-open-fire\/","title":{"rendered":"Imam, worshipers, killed in Borno as terrorists open fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>A mosque has been attacked by terrorists in Borno state killing the Chief Imam of Gima and three other worshipers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The terrorists left several other people injured on Friday when they invaded Ngulde community of Askira-Uba Local Government Area of state<a href=\"http:\/\/Dailynews24.ng\">.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that the terrorists, numbering about 20, launched the attack early in the morning on Friday by opening fire on worshippers who had finished their early morning prayers at the Mosque.<\/p>\n<p>They also looted livestock and foodstuff and set ablaze two vehicles in the community, which is located at some part of Sambisa forest in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The story of the attack was made known to newsmen on Sunday by the Councilor representing Ngulde Ward, Hon Bilyaminu Umar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI, Hon Bilyaminu Umar, Councilor representing Ngulde ward in Askira-Uba local government, wish to sincerely extend my heartfelt condolences and sympathy to my entire constituents over the recent heinous attack by Boko Haram insurgents, which occurred on 2nd September 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ngulde ward is one of the strongest communities in Askira-Uba local government that gave me the mandate in the last local government election to represent them, since then, I have been enjoying their solidarity and support. Hence, I felt deeply shocked in sharing the grief of this latest attack, when most of my people were busy tapping from this year\u2019s farming season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The attack, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, September 2, 2022, after fajir prayers, claimed four (4) lives and left many with casualties, while properties and businesses worth millions of naira were also destroyed and carted away by the insurgents&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Borno State Deputy Speaker, who is also representing Askira-Uba constituency, Abdullahi Askira has confirmed the incident<a href=\"http:\/\/Google.com\">.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A mosque has been attacked by terrorists in Borno state killing the Chief Imam of Gima and three other worshipers.
