Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has condemned an attack on one of his supporters, Mr. Joshua Alamu, by suspected political thugs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to DAILY POST, Mr Alamu was attacked on Saturday during a sensitization campaign in Nasarawa State ahead of the 2023 presidential election.<\/p>\n

Concerned Nigerians reacted by demanding a thorough investigation into the identities of those responsible for the heinous incident.<\/a><\/p>\n

In response, the Labour Party candidate reiterated his call for an enabling environment in which everyone can exercise their fundamental human rights without fear of reprisal in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle.<\/a><\/p>\n

“Once again, I wish to emphasize that Nigerian civic and political space must remain open for the Nigerian people to exercise their constitutional rights to free assembly,” he wrote.<\/p>\n

“Physical attacks on people exercising their rights are completely unacceptable.” -PO\u201d.<\/p>\n
