On Monday night, Nigerian celebrities and others were shocked to learn of the death of Ifeanyi Adeleke, the first son of prominent Nigerian singer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, and his girlfriend, Chioma.

Ifeanyi Adeleke died after drowning in a swimming pool according to reports.

According to a family source, the three-year-old drowned on Monday, October 31st, in a private swimming pool at the family’s Lagos residence.

Since the rumored death of Ifeanyi became public knowledge, celebrities have expressed their outrage and trauma on their official social media pages.

Following the news of Ifeanyi’s death, several popular celebrities posted cryptic messages on Instagram.

Ayo Makun, a popular comedian, wrote in an early Tuesday Instagram post, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so hard.”

Angela Okorie, a Nollywood actress, tweeted: ‘This is unbelievable, God please.’

Eniola Badmus, a Nollywood actress, shared a broken heart emoji with the caption, ‘God why’ in a now-deleted Instagram post.

“When the person you love is someone involved, it becomes a heavy emotional burden,” Daddy Freeze said on Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning. I’m not confirming anything, but please bear with me because I won’t be online tonight.” Later, he posted an all-black page with sad emojis.

“Father heal your children’s hearts from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time, oh Lord,” comedian Lasisi Elenu wrote.

Stefflon Don, a rapper, has asked for prayers for Nigerian singer Davido and his girlfriend Chioma, who have lost their son. ‘Pray for Chioma and Davido,’ she wrote.
