The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismissed information circulating on Twitter about the existence of a cybercrime unit.

The anti-graft agency took to its official Twitter handle, @EFCC Nigeria, to deny the existence of such a unit within its organization.

The post stated, “Do not be deceived; there is no department called the cyber crime unit at the EFCC.”

It further advised the public to be cautious of the activities of fraudsters.

The agency also warned those behind the fake news, saying their “days are numbered.”
