Tallafin mai: Manyan motocin bas-bas za su dawo aiki a birane nan ba da jimawa ba – FCTA

Hukumar kula da babban birnin tarayya Abuja ta ce motocin safa na manyan motocin safa na birane za su koma aiki nan ba da dadewa ba domin rage hauhawar farashin sufurin da ake samu ta hanyar cire tallafin mai.

Kamfanin Dillancin Labarai na Najeriya, NAN, ya ruwaito cewa farashin sufuri ya yi tashin gwauron zabi da sama da kashi 100 cikin 100 a birnin tarayya Abuja, tun bayan da sabon tsarin farashin man fetur ya tashi.

A jawabinsa na farko a ranar 29 ga watan Mayu, shugaban kasa Bola Ahmed Tinubu ya bayyana janye tallafin man fetur, lamarin da ya kai ga karin farashin man fetur daga N195 zuwa N540 kowace lita.

Bayan watanni biyu, an sake duba farashin zuwa N617 kowace lita, lamarin da wasu mazauna babban birnin tarayya Abuja suka ce yana yi masu yawa.

Wasu ma’aikatan gwamnati musamman sun koka kan yadda karin kudin sufuri ya tilasta musu kashe wani kaso mai tsoka na albashin su wajen safarar kayayyaki.

Wasu mazauna yankin sun bayyana kokarin a matsayin “ci gaba maraba”, suna masu cewa hakan zai inganta yanayin zirga-zirgar zanta a babban birnin tarayya Abuja.

Wani mazaunin Nyanya, Mista Paul Nkom, ya shaida wa NAN cewa yana kashe sama da Naira 1,000 a kullum wajen safara daga Naira 300 na farko zuwa Sakatariyar Tarayya da kuma komawa gida.

“Wannan ya kai sama da N5,000 a mako da kuma N20,000 a kowane wata daga dan albashi na, amma ina da tabbacin cewa kudin zai ragu matuka idan muna da motocin bas na jigilar jama’a a kan hanya,” in ji shi.

Wani mazaunin garin, Mista Lawal Haruna, ya ce tana kashe Naira 1,100 wajen jigilar kayayyaki daga Gwarinpa zuwa ofishinsa da ke Central Area Abuja da kuma komawa gida, Naira 2,200 a kowace rana.

Haruna ya yi nuni da cewa yana kashe N11,000 duk mako da kuma N44,000 duk wata.

“Wannan shine kusan kashi 50 na albashi na. Muna kira ga hukumar ta FCTA da ta fitar da kayayyakin jin kai don rage tasirin karin kudin sufuri kan albashin ma’aikata,” inji shi.

Ya bukaci hukumar ta FCTA da ta gaggauta gyara motocin bas din da ke zirga-zirga a cikin birane da kuma sa su kan hanya domin samar da ababen hawa da rahusa a cikin babban birnin tarayya.

A halin da ake ciki, babban sakatare na FCTA, Mista Olusade Adesola, ya bayyana a ranar Litinin cewa, tuni shirye-shiryen dawo da manyan motocin bas din da ke kan hanyar.

Adesola ya bayyana cewa Manajan Darakta na Kamfanin Sufuri na Birane na Abuja (AUMTCO) yana Legas a karshen mako kan lamarin.

“Ya kasance a Legas a karshen mako inda ya yi taro da kamfanonin da ke ba mu manyan motocin bas don gyara mana motocin bas din.

“Muna kuma aiki don tabbatar da cewa dukkan motocin bas din sun daidaita kuma sun dawo kan hanya don tallafawa zirga-zirgar mutane a ciki da wajen birni,” in ji shi.

“Mun kuma fara gyara hanyoyin jirgin kasa da aka lalata na tsarin sufurin jiragen kasa na Abuja domin karawa motocin bas din zirga-zirgar jama’a a birane domin kawo wa jama’armu tallafi.

“Gwamnatin tarayya ta kuma bullo da wasu matakai don inganta tasirin janye tallafin man fetur,” in ji sakataren dindindin.

Similarly, Mr Wadata Bodinga, Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Secretariat of the FCTA, recalled that the FCTA had in Nov. 2022 mandated the Abuja Investment Company Limited (AICL), to resuscitate AUMTCO for better performance.

Bodinga told NAN that the goal was to ensure efficient and effective mass transportation services in the FCT.

He explained that the AICL is an investment company established by the FCT Administration to manage the assets, investments, and business interests of the FCTA.

He noted most of the buses were not on the road, adding that efforts were on top gear to fix them and get them on the road because of the huge potential in public transportation in the FCT.

“Currently we are in a situation where taxes are the one doing the work of high-capacity buses.

“This will soon change as one bus has the capacity to remove 20 taxes off the road,” the director said.

The director also disclosed that the FCT Administration has concluded plans to encourage private sector investment in urban mass transportation.

Bodinga said that the fuel subsidy removal was a transportation matter but with transcending effect across all other sectors.

Noting the need for government intervention in the transportation sector, the director said that the move to encourage private sector investment was part of efforts to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal.

The idea, according to him, is for the private sector to invest massively in urban transportation which will eventually crash transport fare in the city.

“One of the steps is to provide an enabling environment for the private sector to invest, so that they can compete favourably and have greater advantages than small buses and taxes.

“We are already in talks with a lot of companies who are ready to invest. Some of them are already partnering with foreign companies to bring the vehicle into the city.

“The FCT Administration on its part will provide some kind of palliatives, or incentives by providing the companies with spaces to build their service centres and parking bay.

“We will provide critical infrastructure that will encourage the private companies to come to the Abuja city and operate,” he said.
