The Kano State House of Assembly has confirmed the commissioners nominee screened following a letter transmitted to the House by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf seeking approval to screen and confirm them for appointment as Cabinet members.

Daily News 24 reports that the confirmation was made during a plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ismail Jibrin Falgore.

A statement issued by the House Chief Press Secretary, Uba Abdullahi noted that the confirmation followed a motion moved by the Majority Leader Hon. Lawan Husaini Dala after deliberation by the committee of the whole.

The House confirmed seventeen nominees where as the remaining two would be confirmed when they come back from Hajj.

Similarly, the Kano House has constituted a selection committee that would be responsible for sub committees formation.

The selection committee is headed by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ismail Jibrin Falgore while Clerk of the House, Alhaji Ali Maje is to serve as the secretary of the committee.

One of the primary functions of legislature is oversight functions which is usually being done under the subcommittees that are assigned responsibilities of monitoring the activities of MDAs and to report back to House for further Legislative actions.
