Scores of bandits have been killed during an air raid conducted by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in some of their camps located in Chikun and Igabi local government areas of Kaduna State.

A statement issued by the state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, on Monday, said that the airforce carried out the air strikes on an identified bandits’ location in the Kawara General area of Igabi local government.

He disclosed that three bandits were neutralized during the operation, while some kidnapped victims used the opportunity to escape from the camp where they were held captive by the bandits.

Similar operations were also successfully carried out by the Airforce at another bandits enclave in Walawa, Giwa Local Government Area.

Also in Chikun local government, armed surveillance was carried out over Faka, Kangon Kadi, Damba, Ungwan Turai, Galbi, Gwagwada, and environs, where terrorists, who were sighted about 4km Northwest of Godani, were neutralized.

In Kuduru, an active terrorist’s location was sighted and struck with rockets.

In Igabi LGA, operations were conducted over Riyawa, Alhaji Isiaka, Rima, Riyawa, Rumana, Ungwan Liman, Mai Gishiri, and the Kaduna Airport area, with no significant activity noticed.

A similar situation was also obtained in Sabon Birnin, Anaba, Malumi, Wusono, and Kerawa.

Also covered by the aerial patrols were the Kaduna-Abuja road and rail line, as well as Jere, Katari, Olam Farms, Gwagwada, Sarkin Pawa, Abulo, Mangoro, Chikwale, and environs. Normal human and vehicular activities were observed, with no threats encountered.

The Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road and adjoining areas were similarly covered: Buruku, Labi, Udawa, Manini, and Polewire up to Kajuru, Jaka da Rabi and Maguzawa.
