I’m in Daura not exile – Buhari

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has denied being in exile.

Buhari described the report of him fleeing the country and in exile as false.

Speaking through his former media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari said there was no veracity in the report because he had returned home to Daura, Katsina State.

Again, Binani drags INEC to court over nullification of her alleged election victory

The Adamawa State governorship candidate during the March 18 gubernatorial election, Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as “Binani,” has, again, sued the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, over the Commission’s nullification of her declaration as governor of the state.

Binani contested the Adamawa governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Adamu, NWC members on collision course over APC account audit

Abdullahi Adamu

Trouble looms ahead of Tuesday’s National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress following allegation that APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, is shielding the audit report of the party’s account from the National Working Committee.

The development is coming one week after the National Secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore, announced that the APC will host its long-awaited National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings slated for July 10 and 11, respectively.

While the caucus meeting is scheduled to hold today (Monday) at the Presidential Villa by 6pm, the NEC meeting is slated for 10am on Tuesday at Transcorp Hilton.

However, the agenda of the meetings was missing from the notice, which was also advertised on social media and major newspapers across the country.

Threads records 100million users in four days

Threads…

The Threads app launched by Instagram as a rival to Twitter has signed up more than 100 million users in less than five days, data tracking websites said on Monday, smashing the record of AI tool ChatGPT for the fastest-growing consumer app.

While ChatGPT took two months to hit the 100 million user mark and video-sharing app TikTok took nine months, Instagram itself took two and a half years to reach that mark after its 2010 launch.

Threads went live on Apple and Android app stores in 100 countries late on Wednesday, though it is not available in Europe because parent company Meta is unsure how to navigate the European Union’s data privacy legislation.

Twitter is thought to have around 200 million regular users but it has suffered repeated technical failures since Elon Musk bought the platform last year and sacked thousands of staff.

Ministerial appointment: N’Assembly awaits nominees as Tinubu sends list to DSS, EFCC, others

President Tinubu

Expectations on the ministerial list have heightened as President Bola Tinubu clocks over 40 days in office.

By law, Tinubu is required to name his cabinet within 60 days after taking the oath of office on May 29 and transmits it to the Senate for confirmation.

With less than 18 days to submit his cabinet list to the National Assembly as recommended by the constitution, lawmakers and other Nigerians are anxiously waiting for the list of ministers who would help to deliver the President’s renewed hope agenda.

Multiple NASS Assembly sources said the federal parliament was awaiting Tinubu’s ministerial list, with some expressing worry over the delay.
