The Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, has vowed to remain focused and would not fall for any orchestrated plan to distract the smooth academic management of the institution.

Responding to allegations of misappropriation of resources levelled by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), KUST chapter, the management declared that issues raised by ASUU are fragments of falsehood which will not stand any credibility test.

The management clarified a statement signed by deputy registrar, Information and Public Relations unit, Saidu Abdullahi Nayaya, and made it available to journalists on Wednesday.

While refuting ASUU’s allegations, the spokesperson explained that at no point did the management violate any general provision of the procurement act or financial regulations.

The management in the statement challenged the academic staff to instead substantiate her claims with clear evidence before misleading the public and attracting unwarranted sympathy while declaring that all account books of the university are kept clean and up-to-date for verification.

Besides, the management emphasised that issues raised by ASUU in the recent release were rather stale matters which already been addressed appropriately about five years ago.

The statement, however, maintained that rather than listening to distractive arguments intended to smear its credibility, the management would remain undoubtedly firm to sustain a peaceful atmosphere and academic excellence in the citadel of learning.

According to the statement, ” the attention of the management of Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil has been drawn to a statement issued by the university’s chapter of ASUU.

” While the management was not prepared to join issues with ASUU on the allegations raised, the university’s authority is duty-bound to make it abundantly clear that there was no violation of any provision of procurement act or financial regulations.

” The management also wants to assure that all the issues raised by ASUU were the same recurring matters already submitted to the Visitation Panel that have just concluded its assignment.

” The management of the University stands firm in its resolve and commitment to keep ensuring a peaceful and conducive atmosphere for academic and administrative activities to see the realisation of the objectives of the founding fathers of the university.

“The Management, once again solicits the understanding, cooperation, and support of the academic environment to ensuring KUST retain the greater height of academic excellence”.
