The 2022 FIFA World Cup began on Sunday, November 20. With FIFA predicting that 5 billion people will watch the action this year, keep reading to find out how you can get in on the action.

What you should know about the FIFA World Cup 2022

The 2022 World Cup is being held in Qatar and will last until December 18. It is the first winter World Cup in the competition’s history. 32 of the world’s best national teams will compete in 64 matches. Team USA will compete in the tournament for the first time since 2014.

During the group stage (November 20-December 2), games begin at 5 a.m., 8 a.m., 11 a.m., and 2 p.m. EST, so get your coffee ready. The competition’s first match, Qatar vs. Ecuador, kicked off at 11 a.m. EST on Sunday, Nov. 20.
