Mrs Titi Abubakar, the wife of the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has promised that her husband would give women and youth empowerment priority, if elected.

Titi made the pledge during a solidarity walk for Abubakar on Friday in Yola.

She solicited for their votes to ensure that her husband won the upcoming general election.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the exercise came ahead of the grand finale of Abubakar’s electioneering campaign rally to be held in Yola on a date to be announced later.

She called on the electorate to get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ready and come out enmasse on election days for the victory of Abubakar and other PDP candidates at the poll.

According to her, Abubakar’s administration will address challenges of insecurity, health, education, poverty and unemployment, among others.

She further said that Abubakarb would unify Nigeria for the betterment of citizens and the nation.

“If you vote for Atiku, insecurity and poverty will go as he is going to empower women in Nigeria as well as create job opportunities for our youths.

“Our children will get quality education and healthcare service delivery, among other opportunities,” she said.

NAN also reports that the solidarity walk by hundreds of party supporters started from the Airport ‘Maidoki’ roundabout through Bank Road and terminated at the Police roundabout in Jimeta.
