Covenant University has once again secured the top spot among Nigerian institutions in the 2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The Ota-based university outperformed other leading Nigerian universities, reaffirming its status as a leader in higher education.

The global ranking evaluated 1,907 universities across 108 countries, using 18 performance indicators across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry engagement, and international outlook.
Covenant University emerged as Nigeria’s best, surpassing the University of Ibadan, the Federal University of Technology Akure, and the University of Lagos, which ranked second, third, and fourth respectively.
The 2024 ranking reflects a shift in the global higher education landscape, with data from more than 134 million citations and 16.5 million research publications, as well as responses from over 68,000 scholars worldwide.
