The Kano State Government has announced plans to introduce a 24-hour work schedule to speed up the completion of two major interchange bridges in the state capital.
The projects include a three-layer interchange bridge at Dan’agundi Junction and a cloverleaf overpass at Tal’udu Roundabout, both with a combined cost of over ₦2 billion.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday in Kano, the State Commissioner of Works and Housing, Marwan Ahmad, explained that the Ministry would extend work hours into the night to meet the set deadlines.
“To facilitate this, we will install lighting at the sites, allowing work to continue round the clock,” Ahmad said.
The commissioner shared that the Tal’udu bridge is currently 40% complete, while progress at Dan’agundi stands at 20%. He expressed confidence in meeting the projects’ completion date in 2025.
“We are on top of the situation and working hard to beat the deadline,” he assured.
To ease traffic disruptions during construction, alternative routes have been designated, with signage installed to guide motorists.
Ahmad appealed to the public for patience and cooperation, urging them to report any traffic issues to the government for swift resolution.
Governor Abba Yusuf, during the foundation-laying ceremony, stressed that the projects were designed to reduce traffic congestion, enhance travel, and improve the city’s infrastructure and aesthetics.
