A 25-year-old man, Ismail Saliu, has been arrested by the Kwara State Command, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, over the alleged murder of his blood brother for money ritual purposes.
Two other persons including a herbalist, Ahmed Nkwe, were also arrested in connection with the incident in Kosubosu, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State.
They reportedly murdered a 14-year-old Azeez Saliu, younger brother of the prime suspect, Ismail Saliu.

A statement by the spokesman of the command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, in Ilorin on Saturday, said ” operatives of the NSCDC at Kosubosu Divisional Office, got a distress call from the neighbourhood about suspicious movement of certain individuals in the area.
”Some officers in the divisional office with operatives of the anti-vandal patrol team in the area swung into action and subsequently arrested a herbalist, Ahmed Nkwe (44) and Saliu Ahmed (30).
According to the spokesman, the suspects allegedly “lured the victim to the farm where he was gruesomely murdered by his own blood brother, Ismail Saliu.”
Luck, however, ran out of the suspects as they were rounded up by operatives of the NSCDC on their way back from the farm.
”The prime suspect, Ismail Saliu, who is the brother to the deceased, has confessed to having personally slaughtered his brother with the help of the herbalist and one other person,” the statement further revealed.
The Commandant of the command, Iskil Ayinla Makinde, has ordered that the suspects be handed over to the police authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
