The Kano State Police Command has confirmed a major breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to tackle crime within the state.
The development follows a directive from the Inspector-General of Police, emphasizing continuous visibility patrols.
During a series of raids on criminal hideouts and black spots across Kano Metropolis, the Command apprehended 41 suspects and seized dangerous weapons and intoxicating drugs. The investigation into these activities is still ongoing.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, credited the success to the intelligence-led approach of the Command under Commissioner of Police (CP) Dogo.
“I deeply appreciate the public support as all forms of crimes are reducing drastically,” CP Dogo stated. He emphasized that the achievement reflects the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Kano State’s residents.
The Command expressed gratitude to the law-abiding citizens of Kano, noting that their cooperation has been instrumental in reducing crime rates across the state. CP Dogo assured residents of the Command’s relentless dedication to protecting lives and property.
