The Osun State Police Command has issued a warning to hoteliers, event centres, and landlords/landladies in the state not to allow their facilities to be used for any cult-related activities during planned 7/7 anniversary of cultists.
Daily News 24 reports that the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Kehinde Longe issued the warning through the command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, on Thursday.
The Commissioner also issued a marching order to Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Units to be on high alert and to prevent any act that could jeopardise the state’s peace.

Kehinde also stated that the Command, other security agents, and Civilian JTF will not tolerate any unlawful gathering or assemble that will endanger the peaceful atmosphere of the state, as the plan to commemorate 7/7 may result in bloodshed and property destruction.
The Command advises parents and guardians to caution their wards to be law-abiding and refrain from any act or unlawful gathering/ assembly before, during, and after the stated date, as defaulters will be arrested and prosecuted.
Police advised residents to carry out normal activities
Similarly, hoteliers, recreation/event centres, and landlords/landladies are warned not to allow their facilities, as owners of such facilities face prosecution.
The CP advised the people of the state to go about their legitimate business while the Command took the necessary security precautions to prevent a breakdown in law and order.
Citizens are encouraged to be security conscious, vigilant, and cooperative with security agents by providing useful, credible, and timely information.
Three die in Lagos
There was pandemonium following the death of three yet–to–be identified persons in a bloody rival cult war in Shomolu-Bariga area of Lagos State.
One of those inflicted with bullet injury during the gun duel is now in coma at an undisclosed hospital.
Eye witness attributed it to the raging war of supremacy between the Neo-Black Movement aka Aye Black Axe and the Eiye Confraternity.
The police had paraded 17 suspects recently, arrested in Ikorodu, Badagry and Isolo.
Consequently, Owohunwa charged the tactical teams to ensure that activities of cultists in the state were brought to the barest minimum.
Cultists kill one in Ilorin
In a related development, One person, identified as Abdullahi, was killed in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, in a cult clash on Wednesday, preparatory to the yearly 7/7 anniversary of the confraternities.
The incident occurred at Ile-Kewu, Oke-Apomu quarters of Ilorin metropolis on at about 9pm.
The cultists had targeted the elder brother of the deceased, Ibrahim, but met Abdullahi, the younger brother and shot him dead.
There was confusion in the area as a result of the bloody attack by the cultists invasion.
The deceased was reportedly buried on Thursday morning at the Muslim cemetery in Ilorin off Asa Dam road.
The Police Spokesman in the state, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, however noted that “the command has no report of the incident.
“The DPO of ‘C’ Division that covers the area reported no such no such incident in the area please,” he added.
