Department of State Services has confirmed that its operatives carried out a midnight raid on Yoruba rights activist Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo, AKA Igboho’s residence in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Recall that in the early hours of Thursday, Igboho’s residence in the Soka area of Ibadan was invaded by some gunmen suspected to be security agents.

The invasion reportedly lasted till around 5.am since 2.am, according to an eyewitness.

However, while confirming the raid, DSS paraded 11 men and a woman arrested after the fierce battle.

The Public Relations Officer of the DSS, Dr Peter Afunanya, on Thursday night said the operatives recovered a cache of arms including seven AK-47 rifles and thousands of ammunition from Igboho’s house.

He said the suspects were taken to Abuja while Igboho escaped.

Afunanya stressed that the operatives had launched a search for Igboho, adding that he will be tracked.
