A group under the auspices of the Africa Media Development Foundation (AMDF) has expressed dismay over the rising cases of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), saying 1 in every 3 women in their lifetime are affected.
The Executive Director of the group, Iliya Kure, stated this in a statement made available to reporters.
According to him, it is a grave human rights violation and a public health problem, affecting not only women’s physical and mental health but also their lives and self-esteem.
