The headquarters of Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM) was stormed by protesters who came to express their grievances over the just concluded Local Government Election in the state.

The First team who arrived at the headquarter as early as 9 am were PDP Chieftains and Party Members from Jema’a Local government area. They express their dissatisfaction over the conduct of elections in the area.

Shortly after, placards carrying members with all sorts of inscriptions were also at the KAD-SIECOM headquarter to protest what they term as manipulation of the elections in their domain during the 4th September 2021 LG polls.

This time, it was aggrieved members of the Peoples Democratic Party in the Sanga Local government area of the state.

The delegate leader, Nuhu Audu, while narrating his to the press, said as PDP agent during the election, but he and other party agents were chased away at gun points.

He said they are at the state electoral office to demand the release of the certified copy of the result from some polling units in the LGA.

He said, “You can see some of my people behind me; they are disenfranchised in the last local government election in so many ways.

To us, APC does not exist in Sanga LG because of the mass support the generality of people in Sanga LG has given to PDP, and It was an election base on harassment, an election based on cheating; maiming of the electorate for a sin they did not commit.”

Continuing, “Sanga is a peaceful local government area, and the most unfortunate is that we are all brothers, so our brothers cannot lead soldiers or police to come and harass us.

Audu decried that anywhere there is no peace, it is because of the injustice melted on the people.

“Injustice breeds chaos, it breeds distraction, it creates war among brothers. We don’t like this in Sanga,” he said.

“We have come to SIECOM. Look at our request. Our agents, I am a living witness, I am one of the PDP agents in the collation centre, our agents are harassed driven away at gunpoint to clear the scene.

“They didn’t allow us to copy the election results. On that day, we followed up, wrote a letter of request through our lawyer that necessary forms that we were denied or deprived of should be certified and given to us; since last week, today there is no hope, and elections matters are time-bound. We have been here crying that this document should be given to us; there are fees we are going to pay”.

“Let them gave us a true certified copy, and the world will see how cheating was perpetrated in the last election in Sanga local government.”.

Other aggrieved Local government delegates that stormed the area includes Igabi, Soba, Kudan, Kaduna south, Makarfi. Giwa, Jaba, and Kauru.
