Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to partner with development organisations to promote e-Transport safety and security in the state.

Mr. Mahoud Muhammad, Commissioner for Housing and Transport, stated this in a statement by Yusuf Abubakar, Information Officer of the Ministry, on Thursday in Kano.

Muhammad-Santsi who spoke when the Network for Electronic Cab Drivers Association, paid him a courtesy visit, said that the government would implement sound policies to enhance e-Transport operations in the state.

He described the association as partners in progress whose action was in line with the ministry’s mandates for ensuring proper intervention and assistance.

“We will map out strategies in controlling and maintaining e-Transportation companies operating in the state.

“To ensure that they are duly registered in compliance with the ministry’s mandates and regulations,” he said.

Earlier, Alhaji Bashir Ahmad, Chairman of the association, said that the visit was to seek for the state government intervention in monitoring e-Transport security in the state.

“This is to seek for the formulation of effective policies in regulating and screening of the operators to ensure adequate security as well as tax collection,” he said.
