International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) donates machine to help the flight of polio victims and those with disabilities.

ICRC Head of Office Kano, Mr Armen Harutyunyan said during the donation of Diesel Generator, Compressor, Welding Machine, and Spray Gun, they supported the Polio Victims Trust Association to ease their sufferings especially looking at the contributions they are making technologically to the State.

ICRC Kano Office added that the Physical Rehabilitation Program has been in Kano since 2016 providing the target people with rehabilitation services.

In his remark, Professor Jibril Isa Diso from the Department of Special Education said, this gesture will go a long way in supporting their people, thereby boosting their economy and standard of living.

“With this and overall effort of other stakeholders, we’ll arrive at the promised land, which in no time begging from people with disability will be a thing of the past.

“Let Government and other bodies do the same as ICRC and see the result,” Professor Jibril Isa Diso.

International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) is a neutral, impartial and independent humanitarian body with the mandate to protect and assist victims of armed conflicts, other situations of violence for over 150 years.

Since their active presence in Nigeria in 1988, the Organization has been carrying out activities in support of victims of violence in the North East with the coming of Boko Haram, and other parts of the country.
