The Kano State House of Assembly has called on the State Government to renovate Sani Abacha Stadium and Kano Pillars Stadium Sabon Gari.

The call followed a motion moved by the Chairman House Committee on Sports, Hon. Nurudden AlHassan Rano, Member representing Rano Constituency.

This was contained in a statement issued by Uba Abdullahi, the Director Press and Public Affairs, Kano State House of Assembly.

According to him, the said Stadia when renovated will pave way for Sports development and serve as a source of revenue to the state government.

The motion was seconded by Hon. Abubakar Dalladi Isa Kademi, Member representing Gaya Constituency.

Hon. Kabiru Hassan Dashi, Member representing Kiru Constituency, also stressed that when fully renovated the Stadia would ease the problems of moving Kano Pillars out of Kano and would ginger them during home matches.

Similarly, it would ensure full security of the team.

The House agreed on the motion to call on the State Government in this direction.

Also at the plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, a Joint Committee report on Public Petition, Land and that of Education has present a report to the Honourable House in respect of a petition by Parent Teachers Association of Izazudden School Complex against the Estate of Late Malam Ibrahim Isah Yakasai, by the Chairman House Committee on Public Petition, Hon. Umar Musa Gama, Member representing Nassarawa Constituency, where the House agreed on the report after a few corrections.

The House adjourned sitting to Monday,11th October 2021.
