Bauchi State targets at covering 1.31 million children in the on-going 2021 second round of Maternal, New-born and Child Health (MNCH) programme.

Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, Executive Secretary, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Thursday that the programme covered the 20 local government areas of the state.

He said the exercise would be conducted at primary healthcare facilities and some selected mobile posts between Nov. 22 and Nov. 26.

He said the programme covered nutritional screening, family planning, antenatal care, and birth registration, among others.

The MNCH Week is an outcome of the 53rd National Council on Health meeting held in Asaba in March 2008.

Bauchi State conducted the first round of MNCH Week in May.
