Kano socialite, Umar Alhassan popularly known as King Indara in the Arewa Instagram and Twitter community has joined politics. Asides from being an entrepreneur, photographer, modelling agent, the fashionable social media celebrity has decided to focus on politics as a career.

While speaking exclusively to Daily News24, King Indara said the youths needed to be given opportunities and his recent focus on politics was to pave way for the younger generation. He believes that Nigerian youths can excel if only given a chance in the political space.

“I want to see a new generation whereby youths can be given opportunities to fulfil their dreams. If given the chance, I want to contribute my quota to the reduction of poverty and suffering among the grassroots in the country.

“The reason why some people are trying to migrate from Nigeria to other countries is because there is poverty. If poverty is reduced, people won’t have a reason to run away from Nigeria. Some people live on less than a dollar in a day. I want to contribute to ensuring that people don’t run away from Nigeria because of poverty.” Mr Alhassan said.

He identifies Dr Yunusa Adamu Dangwani as his mentor in the political space. “I want to follow Dr Yunusa’s steps because he is like a father to me and he inspires me.” He stated.

Mr Alhassan believes that in the next 10 years, he could become the president of Nigeria. He said” In the next 10 years, I see myself becoming the president of Nigeria. The road will not be easy but I try my best Insha Allah. (By God’s grace)”

The social media celebrity urged Nigerian youths to urgently get their permanent voter cards as it will enable the youths in setting the pace and changing the narrative of the Nigerian political space
