The police charged Aminu, who resides in Anqwan-gade Gwagwalada, Abuja, with criminal conspiracy, mischief and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Abdullahi Tanko, told the court that the complainant, Yahaya Mohammed, a member of a vigilance group, who resides at Sabi-gari, Gwagwalada, reported the matter at the police station on Feb.12.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 97, 327 and 286 of the Penal Code.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Sani Umar, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with one reliable surety in like sum.

Umar ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and should present a valid means of identification with two passport photographs to the court’s registrar.
