As election imminently approaches in Nigeria, almost all the political parties and power-hungry, high-flying, aspiring politicians have their hands full in formulating strategies for the looming crucial time. Former governor of Kano state, Eng Rabiu Kwankwaso, has been one of the heavyweights in Nigerian politics since 1999.

As a politician whose prominent popularity is yet to downswing in the Nigerian political arena, due to his sweeping cult of adherents across the country and their fervent conviction for his capacity of leadership, he has taken a courageous approach and a bold step of declaring a new political group, The National Movement (TNM).

Although it was proclaimed that TNM is not a political party, it is obvious that it is astutely initiated to counter the two powerful parties in Nigeria, the ruling APC and the prominent opposition party, PDP.

Kwankwaso started this movement to test the waters on whether he could make the two old houses of scoundrels, scamps and spalpeen-charlatans fly the coop and learn their inevitable lesson.

To analyze the question of whether the TNM is capable of challenging the two giant parties or not, from a neutral, fair and unbiased perspective, one will almost inevitably be forced to primarily unveil who the man Kwankwaso is, by visiting and dissecting the archive of his political journey, career as well as pedigree. This will allow us to know whether he is to be undermined or not.

After extensive independent research of his life, despite his few flaws and one of them being a man with authoritarian tendency, only three words should be suited to summarize him: courage, perseverance and strategy.

The seventh President of the United States, Andrew Jackson, once said “One man with courage makes a majority.” So underrate Kwankwaso at your own peril because to call him a gorilla warrior is beyond an understatement —he is the fittest and the one who best adapts to the Nigerian political climes.

All indications depict that Kwankwaso’s party, PDP is not ready to take over this country. The word failure is written at every nook and cranny of the party for it was bedeviled and infested with clueless and selfish power mongers.

While the ruling APC, with all its strength and power, is clearly confused and fails to arrive at a definite conclusion of who should succeed the current failure, Buhari. Kwankwaso foresaw all these and he is not ready to be caught up in any of the sinking ships of mess the two decaying political parties found themselves in.

His seizure of this promising opportunity culminates in his decision of cautiously and conscientiously fleeing away from the two upcoming tragedies by putting forward a hopeful brand new option.

What is next for TNM after being established? The answer is mobilization, and the man behind the movement is well-known, illustrious and tireless and simply just perfect at doing that. One of the why among the many whys I have to repeatedly echo that we should never undermine, undervalue, disparage and underestimate a man of focused, purposeful and clear vision of his direction.

A man with reputed character of strength, willpower and perseverance. A man with millions of faithful followers who are willing to sacrifice everything for his success.
