Newcastle United are leading the race to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli during this summer’s transfer window.
Osimhen arrived Napoli from Ligue 1 club Lille in September 2020 and has been one of the key performers for the Partenopei since then.
The Nigeria international has scored 21 goals and provided seven assists in 51 appearances across all competitions for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs even though he has a contract in Naples until June 2025.
However, according to Italian radio presenter Luca Cerchione, there are currently three clubs in the race, with Newcastle battling Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Cerchione claims that Newcastle is at the head of the queue, but the Magpies would have to avoid relegation from the Premier League in order to stand a chance of signing him in the upcoming market.
The forward has been in strong form during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 11 times and registering four assists in 21 appearances in all competitions.
Following their lucrative takeover, Eddie Howe’s side is expected to be busy this summer, but the club is still locked in a fierce battle against relegation to the Championship. (Completesports)
