Kano State Government on tuesday received a donation of 4 new State of the art Ambulances from the National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA) acquired through the Global Fund with the aim of strengthening response and healthcare services.

While receiving the ambulances at the Kano Government House, Governor Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje represented by his deputy,Dr.Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna commended NACA and Global Fund for the donation which he said would complement the government’s efforts of providing immediate response towards strengthening the state healthcare delivery.

“I wish to commend the effort of the donors for their support to the State Government through their interventions to improve emergency medical services and healthcare delivery he said”.

Earlier, the Director General of NACA Dr.Gambo Aliyu Gumel represented by the Director Special Duties, Baidi Gajo Muhammed explained that the donation was in appreciation of Kano State Government’s efforts towards HIV/AIDS control and other healthcare services.

“Our attention was attracted by the commitment of Kano State Government to provide accessible and equitable qualitative health services to its people he said “.

In his remarks, the Commissioner of Health, Dr.Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa said the ambulances are equipped with medical equipments and gadgets and assured that the would be judiciously used.
