According to him, the gesture is to promote welfare and enhance the training of responsible citizens.

He assured that the maiden programme would be expanded in subsequent years to support less privileged women, orphans and widows to cope with the Ramadan fasting and Eid-el-Fitr with ease.

According to him, the beneficiaries were given food, dates and assorted fruits to break their fast, as Muslims faithful intensified prayers in the last 10 sacred days of Ramadan.

He explained that the gesture was borne out of the desire of the centre to play its part of social responsibility towards strengthening peace and inter-religious harmony in the state.

Danfulani added that Muslim and Christian staff and students of the centre donated for the outreach with a view to invoke the help of Almighty Allah for the success of their upcoming Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations.

He noted that the centre, which was designed to prepare secondary and post-secondary school students for JAMB, WAEC and NECO examinations, also provide other humanitarian services like career talks, ICT training and JAMB orientation. (NAN)
