The convener of the rally, Halima Suleiman  explained that   their call became necessary , considering the track record left by the former president, while in office .

According to Halima, former president Goodluck Jonathan  “is the best hand to take over the mantle of leadership of the country.

“We have realized our mistakes, we are convinced that he is the right hand to take charge and we are of the strong conviction that, he will steer the affairs of this great nation to the promised land.

“so far, as far as we know there is no obstacle from northern Nigeria  to the return of Jonathan,  he remains the sole credible option before the northern electorate.” Halim said.

Co convener of the rally, Habibu Mohammed  Bako argued that, Jonathan achieved great strides while in office  despite spending   lesser number of years compared to  the incumbent ruling APC led federal government.

“Jonathan is honest, competent,  and passionate about this great country,  we are here to appeal to him to run, he must run.

“We believe his return to office would bring an end to banditry, kidnapping, petty crimes that are caused by poor economic management skills, we want him to run and he must run to restore  Nigeria back  to its glorious days.

Our correspondent reports that the procession that paraded long motorcade and thousands of  pedestrian processed  from Bristol hotel  through Farm Centre to  zoo road  and Zaria road.
