Gov. Muhammas Badaru of Jigawa State has called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence in their relationship to one another during the Sallah celebration and beyond.

Badaru said this in his Eid-el-Fitr message to Muslims faithful in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Ahmad Danyaro, on Sunday in Dutse.

He enjoined Nigerians to increase their efforts in charitable endeavours, perseverance and spiritual intercession for the nation.

The governor urged Muslims to pray at the Eid praying grounds for Allah to restore peace and unity in all parts of the country and rebuild Nigeria’s economy.

“We should use this post-Ramadan period and the lessons we learnt from the fasting period to steer clear of any action which does not augur well for our country,” he said.

Badaru congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fasting and successful Sallah festivity.

He said that Nigerians need to continue to pray for sustained unity, peaceful coexistence and harmony as the country matches toward the 2023 general elections. (NAN)
