The Commissioner of Police in Kano, Samaila Shua’ibu Dikko has warned against anything action that could disrupt the peaceful coexistence in the state during the ongoing primary election.
CP Dikko gave the warning in a statement by the police public relations officer (PPRO) of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa in Kano.
The meeting is aimed at sensitizing all political party leaders and their followers in the state on the need to maintain peace in the ongoing primary election.

The commissioner warned political party leaders and political party aspirants against the use of thugs (‘Yan Daba) and weapons during political activities in the State, as anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law.
“The responsibility of the Police is the protection of life and property, the Police will continue to be neutral in discharging this duty”.
He urged political party leaders to prevail on their supporters to be of good conduct by shunning any act capable of disrupting the peace being enjoyed in the state, adding that the Police would not tolerate any surreptitious move by any political party to foment trouble in the state.
He lastly called on them to be vigilant and report any suspicious person, items or movement, to the nearest Police station.
